Generating Electricity From Human Kinetic Energy-Urban Park
Team: Green Circuits
Project Details
Project Description: The Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect is heating up our cities, worsening climate change and putting vulnerable lives at risk. To address this challenge, Team Green Circuits presents an innovative solution that reimagines public parks as sources of clean energy. Our concept integrates renewable energy-generating playground and fitness equipment into urban parks, turning recreation into power production.
In our design, merry-go-rounds, swings, and see-saws are fitted with DC motors that generate electricity through motion. Outdoor fitness equipment like treadmills and exercise bikes convert human activity into usable energy. Additionally, solar panels on benches and tables collect sunlight to power lighting and park amenities.
This green infrastructure not only helps cool the city but also generates clean electricity for park lights, charging stations, and water features—reducing reliance on fossil fuels and minimizing maintenance costs. Beyond functionality, it encourages community engagement and educational awareness, transforming parks into living labs where people experience sustainability firsthand.
Our urban energy park blends technology, play, and climate action. It's more than just a green space—it’s a self-sustaining ecosystem that empowers communities and sets a new standard for smart, climate-resilient urban design.
