Project Description: Automatic Trash Detection using AI is a system designed to identify and classify waste in real-time using computer vision and machine learning environment. The goal is to automate waste management processes, improve recycling efficiency, and reduce environmental pollution.
The AI model processes images or videos from cameras. It detects and classifies trash into categories (glass, plastic, metal, paper, and organic). This is a project for our daily life and a better future.
Many community members are not adequately educated about what items belong in each category. This lack of awareness contributes to high contamination rates within recycling streams and organic waste bins.
Why I make this AI system? to make smart waste management in the future. All ages, from children to adults, can utilize it. Easy, simple, but functional for everyday use in our daily life. It would be more interesting if it could be installed on a mobile phone.
To make it more engaging than the others, I included a character that was influenced by "Pasukan Orange." It also has sound effects. I made the character "Bang Oren" by myself using Procreate.
I hope this system will helps create cleaner and smarter cities. It benefits the environment and specially our world.
