I am Yassin Haitham, a 16-year-old student and STEM Co-Teacher at IVY STEM International School in Cairo, Egypt. I am a passionate app developer and have created a chatbot called AstroY, which provides real-time information about astronomy and space to help students. I am fluent in Arabic, French, and English.
I wrote the book Astronomy Unveiled: Mastering the Cosmos at a young age, The book offers a simplified introduction for Astronomy for young people.
I have received several certifications, including the Global Competence Certificate From AFS , Team Member Certification From Cognia, and Junior Astronaut Certificate from BRS-Labs. I have also been honored with the SUPREME Globe Magnitude Award, a scholarship at IVY STEM International School by a nomination from the CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, and the Emerging Leader Award.
In addition to my chatbot project, I am Co-Teaching a new club at my school focused on app development using the MIT App Inventor platform. This club will provide students with valuable skills in coding and inspire a new generation of app developers.
My dedication to STEM education has earned me recognition and awards. I have completed the Orbital Mechanics course from the Egyptian Space Agency with a grade distinction and have received more than 20 certificates in various aspects of the space industry.
I have been invited to speak at two TEDx events, where I shared my insights on why Arabs should be interested in astronomy and the space industry. I have also won first place in creating a CANSAT with my team during a grant training program at Cairo University's Faculty of Engineering.
Outside of my STEM work, I volunteer in organizing events, competitions, and marketing for my school. My contributions have been recognized, and I have received the Supreme Globe Magnitude award as one of the 100 most inspirational people in the Arab world. I was also chosen as an international delegate at the Global Youth Leadership Summit in Dubai, where I received the Emerging Leader award.
As a Fellow in Pineapple app, I am always seeking new opportunities to grow my skills and make a positive impact in the world. I am committed to sharing my passion for the space industry and inspiring others.
I currently serve as an International Review Team Member at Cognia and a STEM Co-Teacher at IVY STEM International Schools.
My volunteer experience includes working with Zooniverse, Global Youth Parliament, Spaceak, and participating as an Egypt Delegate at COY17, the 17th Conference of Youth for Climatic Changes.
