STEMpedia Completes the Nationals for Codeavour 5.0, the World’s Biggest Coding Competition for Students; Eyes for the Showdown in Dubai

Gurugram – 06 April 2024 – STEMpedia successfully concluded the national level event of 2023’s biggest Innovation fest called Codeavour 5.0 International at Alpine Convent School, Sector 10 Gurugram. The coding competition for students was jointly hosted by ART PARK@IISc, India’s first AI & Robotics Technology Park, Established by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru and supported by AI Foundry, ARTPARK@IISc stands as India’s pioneering AI & Robotics Technology Park and STEMpedia, a globally renowned EdTech startup, with support from organizations like Startup India, Startup Nexus of the American Embassy, ARTPARK (an initiative of IISc Bangalore), and CIIE.CO at IIM Ahmedabad, Industries Commissionerate of the Government of Gujarat, techXchange – India UK, PCB Power Market, INDIAai (a joint initiative of MeitY, NeGD, and NASSCOM to prepare the nation for an AI future), and STEM.org (US) to name a few. 

Codeavour 5.0 International is the biggest Innovation Fest for the next-gen where participants make innovative projects with hands-on learning using PictoBlox to make the world a better place. The coding competition for students also saw support from organizations like Motwani Jadeja Foundation, Inventant Education, AWS (Amazon Web Services), NITI Aayog, Agastya Foundation, SRF Foundation, and STEM.org

The AI, Robotics, and coding competition for students has made a significant global impact, reaching 3,00,000 Students across 70 different countries to date. This milestone reflects the cumulative efforts and achievements of all editions of the Codeavour competition thus far. 

Additionally, this year has been marked by the successful conclusion of regional events in 13 states across India, alongside national events in 10 countries around the globe. These events have showcased the incredible talent and innovation of participants and underscored our commitment to expanding our reach and positively impacting teams worldwide. As we move forward, we are dedicated to building on this momentum and continuing our mission of fostering creativity and collaboration on a global scale.

The event commenced with an illuminating address by our esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Biswajit Saha, Director of Skill Education and Training at CBSE. Dr. Saha captivated the audience with insights on fostering computational thinking among the youth, emphasizing its importance as a foundational skill that transcends traditional academic boundaries. He elaborated on the evolving nature of future job roles and highlighted the necessity for students to engage with both social and technological frameworks alongside their academic pursuits. Dr. Saha’s visionary speech set the tone for an event deeply focused on preparing students for the dynamic changes the next half-century will bring.

AI EduFusion Conclave: Shaping Global School Education with AI, Robotics, and Policy Insights

The National Level Event featured an enlightening expert talk by the Guest of Honor, Mr.  Michael Peter Edson, the Chief Museum Officer at the Museum of Solution. Mr. Edson’s address to the Young Innovators and Educators with his talk titled “Create, Code, and Play: The Youth-Led Revolution for a Sustainable Future.” His profound insights shed light on the significant impact that coding and creative innovation can have on fostering a sustainable world. Mr. Edson emphasized the vital role of youth empowerment in driving innovation and sustainability, illustrating how young minds are at the forefront of pioneering a more resilient future.

The event was highlighted by a spirited panel discussion titled “AI EduFusion Conclave: Shaping Global School Education with AI, Robotics, and Policy Insights.” This engaging forum delved into the Government of India’s forward-thinking efforts to weave AI and Robotics into the fabric of school education, showcasing successful case studies and discussing the enduring impact of technological educational programs across India.

Moderated by Mr. Swapil Kumar, Head of Business Development at STEMpedia (Extreme Right), the panel featured distinguished experts including Dr. Sreejit Chakrabarthy, Director of AI at GEMS Dubai American Academy (Second from left); Mr. Yogesh Kumar, Group Operation Head (Programs) at HCL Foundation(Third from left); Mrs. Ashi Gaur, Principal of Alpine Convent School (Third person from right); and Mr. Pankaj Verma, Chief Technology Officer at STEMpedia (second from right). The discussion illuminated the critical role of technology in equipping students for the future job market and explored various government initiatives aimed at achieving this goal.

The event proudly welcomed over 1,000 attendees, including students, parents, mentors, principals, and visitors from more than 13 states across India, all converging to celebrate the spirit of youth-led innovation aimed at addressing environmental challenges. Young innovators took the stage to present their groundbreaking projects in Track 1 – Innovation and Entrepreneurship, each aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Meanwhile, participants in Track 2 – AI-Robo City Challenge engaged in intense competition, demonstrating their problem-solving skills and creative thinking in pursuit of solutions for a sustainable future.

From Track 2 Junior Group: Tech Coder (Winner), vk_vedang (First Runner-up), and Shadow Supreme (Second Runner-up) emerged as winners.

From Track 2 Senior Group: Team Dynmo (Winner), Robo X (First Runner-up), Mayapednekar (Second Runner-up) emerged as winners.

The winners from both tracks will now move ahead for the International Showdown in Dubai. Dubai American Academy is the International Venue Partner and co-host of the Finals.
