Across multiple editions, Codeavour has given young innovators a platform to explore STEM, build ideas and solve real-world problems through competition. As the platform grew, we wanted younger kids to have a place to begin their STEM journey too, without complicated coding or overwhelming concepts.
That led to Codeavour Lil’ Champs, an early STEM experience for kids aged 5–7 where robotics, coding and problem-solving come alive through hands-on play and age-appropriate challenges.
Because every young mind deserves a place to start.
Young learners control Wizbot Neo, navigating a colourful arena inspired by the real world. They plan routes and code movements to transport Energy Cubes from renewable sources to destinations in need of power. Each step challenges them to think ahead, decide, and anticipate the outcome.
Learn from wrong moves to smoothly adjust your plan. Try different approaches and keep going until it works.
Observe challenges and think carefully before acting. Plan your next moves to make decisions independently.
Count and calculate moves across grids. Apply logic through robotics to truly experience STEM through play.
Explore different routes to test new ideas. Find another way forward to turn your imagination into action.
Mildred Parten’s work shows how kids progress towards greater social interaction through shared activities. Lil’ Champs brings Cooperative Play into the experience, encouraging kids to work towards a common goal, exchange ideas and make decisions together as they solve hands-on robotics challenges.
Kids express their ideas, listen to another point of view and explain what they think should happen next.
Shared goals encourage kids to coordinate decisions and take responsibility for solving the challenge together.
Working through disagreements and different approaches helps kids negotiate, adapt and arrive at a solution together.
The 45 × 45-inch Energy Adventure Arena transforms coding into a physical challenge where two young learners put their preparation into action. Each player controls a Wizbot using manual button-based coding, planning routes across the grid to transport Energy Cubes to the required destinations. With only 10 minutes, kids must think ahead, correct wrong moves and decide how to complete as many challenges as possible. Each successful delivery earns 10 points, with 30 points available across the complete arena. The competitive format then progresses from the League to Super 8, Super 4 and Finals, giving young learners an exciting goal to work towards while applying their STEM skills in a real challenge setting.
Wizbot Neo is a coding and robotics kit designed to make technology approachable for young learners. Kids can begin completely screen-free, using its colour-coded buttons to create sequences and immediately watch their code turn into movement. In Grid Mode, they navigate physical arenas and work with direction, sequencing and spatial reasoning.
But Wizbot goes beyond the Energy Adventure arena. Switch to Draw Mode and kids can code it to create shapes and patterns. As they progress, Wizbot can connect via Bluetooth to PictoBlox Junior Blocks, introducing graphical block-based programming and opening up more advanced activities.
